Muslim Charity Run 5K - for Project 250

Every step counted for Project 250

On a cold Saturday morning, Yaseen Youth took to the course for the Muslim Charity Run 5K (3.1 miles) - not for medals alone, but for the revival of our Youth Centre through Project 250.

Project 250 is our next chapter: turning our centre into a lasting home for prayer, mentorship, and community. This run was one way our young people, families, and supporters put that vision into action.

From first timers to finish-line pride

The stories from the day said everything about who we are. One brother finished in 23 minutes. Another completed the full distance with no training behind him. Our youngest runners - aged just 6 and 8 - crossed the line with the same determination as everyone else. Every pace mattered.

That mix of experience and courage is what Yaseen Youth is built on: meeting people where they are, and walking (or running) the journey together.

A community that showed up

The atmosphere at the Muslim charity run was amazing. Runners ranged from 3 to 97 years old, with families cheering from the sidelines throughout. It felt less like a race against the clock and more like a reminder that when our community gathers with purpose, everyone belongs - from the youngest legs on the course to the elders who inspire us to keep going.

What comes next

If you would like to get involved with Yaseen Youth, stay tuned. We might have a hike coming soon - so get your trainers ready.

In the meantime, you can support Project 250 by donating, volunteering, or sharing our work with someone who might walk this path with us.
